The 2026 Lamborghini Temerario replaces the long-serving Huracán as the brand's entry-level supercar, although there is nothing entry-level about it. As Lamborghini's latest HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle), it combines a completely new design with an advanced plug-in hybrid powertrain, aiming to deliver genuine supercar performance without sacrificing everyday usability.

At its heart is an all-new 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 developed in-house at Sant'Agata Bolognese. Featuring a flat-plane crankshaft, the engine produces 789bhp on its own and revs all the way to an astonishing 10,000rpm. It is supported by three electric motors, one mounted between the engine and gearbox and two on the front axle, which provide four-wheel drive and active torque vectoring. Power comes from a 3.8kWh lithium-ion battery pack, with the complete hybrid system producing 907bhp and 538lb-ft of torque. Drive is sent through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, allowing the Temerario to sprint from 0-62mph in just 2.7 seconds before reaching a top speed of 213mph.

The Temerario introduces a fresh design language for Lamborghini. It is longer, wider and features a taller glasshouse than the Huracán, improving both interior space and visibility. Distinctive hexagonal daytime running lights sit above large air intakes, while LED headlamps come as standard. Around the rest of the car, an integrated rear spoiler, prominent side intakes and an exposed engine bay all serve functional aerodynamic and cooling purposes.

Beneath the bodywork is a highly rigid aluminium spaceframe paired with double-wishbone suspension front and rear. Standard alloy wheels measure 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear, while sizable carbon-ceramic brakes provide the stopping power expected of a car with this level of performance.

Inside, Lamborghini's "Feel Like a Pilot" philosophy remains, but there is a greater emphasis on comfort and technology than before. The dashboard features three screens: a 12.3-inch digital instrument display for the driver, an 8.4-inch central touchscreen and a 9.1-inch display for the passenger. The system supports content sharing between screens, while wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a premium Sonus faber sound system are fitted as standard.

The redesigned steering wheel incorporates controls for indicators, headlights and driving modes, with physical rotary switches allowing quick access to the different settings. These include Città mode, which enables silent electric-only driving for up to six miles, alongside Strada, Sport and the track-focused Corsa modes.

The cabin itself is trimmed in a mix of leather and Alcantara, giving the Temerario a more luxurious feel than the stripped-back supercars of the past. New 18-way electrically adjustable sports seats feature both heating and ventilation, while dual-zone climate control, cruise control and rain-sensing wipers further reinforce its credentials as a genuinely usable everyday supercar.
