Representing the most powerful production vehicle ever constructed at Aston Martin's Gaydon assembly facility, global manufacturing was strictly limited to 499 examples worldwide, comprising 300 Coupes and 199 open-top Volantes. Positioned at the absolute peak of the traditional grand tourer class, this ultimate variant combines extensive lightweight carbon fibre enhancements with meticulous chassis re-engineering to deliver sharper dynamic focus while preserving its character as a cross-continental cruiser.
At the heart of the DBS 770 Ultimate is a heavily modified iteration of Aston Martin’s 60-degree, quad-cam 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine. By redesigning the air induction pathways and increasing maximum turbo boost pressure by 7% to 2.15 bar, engineers extracted a monstrous 759 bhp and 900 Nm of torque. This colossal power is directed exclusively to the rear wheels via a specifically calibrated ZF eight-speed automatic transmission and a mechanical limited-slip differential, resulting in optimized shift speeds and precise torque mapping across lower gears. The Coupe rockets from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.4 seconds (3.6 seconds for the Volante) and charges onward to an uninhibited top speed of 211 mph.
The structural updates focus on improving rigidity and steering response to better manage the vehicle's 1,845 kg kerb weight. A significantly stiffened front crossmember and a thicker rear undertray combine to increase front-end lateral stiffness by 25 per cent, providing a much more positive and crisp steering feel on challenging roads. The standard adaptive damping system receives a bespoke model-specific tune, balancing daily ride comfort with high-speed body control. Passengers are coddled by standard Sports Plus seats upholstered in full semi-aniline leather and Alcantara, adorned with a unique fluted quilt and perforation pattern. The interior incorporates standard carbon fibre gearshift paddles, forged carbon door card inlays, heavyweight floor carpets, and a premium Bang & Olufsen sound system. A laser-etched DBS 770 Ultimate insignia and bespoke strap with a buckle accent are tailored directly onto the central armrest, confirming its lineage alongside individual door sill plaques noting its specific limited production run.
