2019 Porsche 911 (991.2) GT3 RS Weissach

In February 2018, Porsche unveiled a facelifted version of the track-focused 911 GT3 RS, designed for maximum driver engagement. Changes include a new 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six similar to the unit used in the the GT3 and RSR, which revs to 9,000 rpm and produces 520hp and 347lb ft of torque (20hp and 7.4lb-ft more than the previous GT3 RS), coupled to a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission with paddle shift. As a result, the car can launch from 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 194mph.

It also features a modified front fascia, side skirts and rear wing, NACA ducts for brake cooling, lightweight glass for the rear and rear-side windows, and a specially developed tyre compound.

Vehicles equipped with the desirable Weissach package have a carbon-fibre bonnet, carbon-fibre anti-roll bars and coupling rods, a half roll cage, thinner carpets, an exposed carbon-fibre roof, and the same staggered 20/21-inch magnesium alloy wheels found on the GT2 RS.

On 18 April 2018, driven by Kévin Estre, the 991.2 GT3 RS set a lap time of 6:56.4 around the Nürburgring Nordschleife. It is the third Porsche production car to break the 7 minute barrier around the track, the first being the 918 Spyder.
