2024 Porsche 911 (992.1) Carrera 4 GTS

The ‘992’ is the eighth and current generation of Porsche 911, which was introduced at the Porsche Experience Center in Los Angeles on November 27, 2018. All variations of the 992 use rack and pinion steering, MacPherson strut front suspension and rear multi-link suspension, along with 20-inch wheels on the front and 21-inch wheels at the rear.

Compared to its predecessor, the 992 is 45mm wider, and now uses aluminium body panels. The 992 also has a new rear bumper with larger exhaust tips, electrical pop-out door handles, and LED headlights. All models also feature a full-length rear light bar.

The interior has received significant upgrades, including a straighter dashboard, reminiscent of the classic 911 dash. The instrument cluster consists of two seven-inch digital displays and an analogue tachometer.

Standard equipment includes a 10.9-inch display with Porsche Communication Management (PCM) and navigation, driver-assistance systems including collision detection with braking intervention, and a ‘Wet Mode’ feature which uses acoustic sensors on the wheel wells to detect wet surfaces and adjust the stability control, rear wing position and gearbox accordingly.

Additional GTS features include the same brakes and centre-lock alloy wheels found on the 911 Turbo, high-gloss black side window trims, Porsche Dynamic Lighting System Plus (PDLS+) and the SportDesign Package, which features a different front apron, front spoiler, and rear apron.

The GTS is powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six, producing 473 hp and 420 lb ft of torque, coupled to the eight-speed PDK automatic transmission with paddle shift. The result is a 0-62 mph sprint time of 3.4 seconds, and a top speed of 194 mph.
