The 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor is a standout performance pickup, combining everyday usability with impressive off-road capability and cutting-edge technology. This latest generation introduces the highly sought-after 3.0-litre V6 EcoBoost petrol engine to the UK and European markets, bringing true Raptor performance to the mid-size pickup segment and bridging the gap to the iconic F-150 Raptor.
Power is delivered by the twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 EcoBoost engine, producing 288bhp and 491Nm of torque, paired with a smooth-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission with magnesium paddle shifters, allowing the Ranger Raptor to accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 7.9 seconds. An active exhaust system is fitted as standard, featuring four selectable modes; Quiet, Normal, Sport, and Baja.
Built for extreme conditions, the Ranger Raptor features a reinforced chassis, advanced FOX 2.5-inch Live Valve suspension that adjusts up to 500 times per second, and a full-time four-wheel-drive system with a two-speed transfer case and front and rear locking differentials. The Terrain Management System offers seven selectable drive modes, including Baja Mode for high-speed off-road driving, while a heavy-duty steel front bash plate protects vital components underneath.
Inside, the cabin delivers both comfort and technology, with a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.0-inch SYNC 4A touchscreen, Ford Performance sports seats trimmed in leather and Miko suede, and a 10-speaker B&O premium sound system. Additional features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera system, and six auxiliary upfitter switches ready for accessories such as light bars or winches.
Capability remains a key strength, with an impressive 850mm wading depth, 272mm of ground clearance, a 2,500 kg braked towing capacity, and a payload of up to 652 kg, making the Ranger Raptor as practical as it is thrilling.
