2025 Toyota Land Cruiser Invincible
Key Points: Galaxy Black Exterior Paint, Detachable Towing Hitch, 20" 6-Double-Spoke Wheels
The J250-series Land Cruiser was launched in August 2023, with a focus on practicality, durability and dependability. The vehicle is based on the body-on-frame GA-F platform shared with the larger J300 series Land Cruiser, and features a retro-inspired, boxy exterior inspired by the J60 model from the 1980s, which boasts 8.7-inches of ground clearance.
More rigid than than its predecessor, it is the first ‘Light Duty’ Land Cruiser to use an electric power steering system, improving off-road manoeuvrability at low speed, and allowing a new lane-keep system to be fitted.
All models are equipped with a full-time four-wheel drive system with a manually locking Torsen limited-slip centre differential and an electronic two-speed transfer case with high/low range settings. As standard, power is distributed 40/60 between the front and rear axles, though the car’s electronic locking rear differential is able to split power 50/50 for improved control on rough terrain.
In the range-topping ‘Invincible’ trim level, it is powered by a 201bhp 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It features the Stabiliser Disconnect Mechanism (SDM), which allows the driver to electronically disengage the front anti-roll bar for greater wheel articulation on uneven terrain, as well as the Multi-Terrain Select system, which automatically adjusts throttle, brake and traction control settings for different surfaces, and crawl control, an off-road cruise control system that maintains a slow, steady speed over challenging terrain, allowing the driver to focus on steering.
