The 2022 BMW X5 xDrive45e (G05) is a luxury plug-in hybrid SUV that combines BMW’s 3.0-litre ‘B58’ turbocharged inline-six with an integrated electric motor, an eight-speed automatic transmission and the brand’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system. Together, the system produces 390hp and 443 lb-ft of torque, enabling an impressive 0-60mph time of around 5.6 seconds.

The plug-in hybrid system allows the X5 45e to operate in electric-only, hybrid, or performance-oriented drive modes, automatically blending power sources based on driving conditions and driver inputs. In electric-only mode, the vehicle can reach speeds of up to 83mph.
