2019 Bugatti Chiron Sport

In March 2018, Bugatti introduced the Chiron Sport at the Geneva Motor Show, representing a more focused and dynamically capable evolution of the record-breaking Chiron. Designed to offer greater agility and driver engagement without compromising the extraordinary performance of the standard car, the Chiron Sport features a number of chassis, suspension and weight-saving upgrades, while retaining the Chiron’s formidable 8.0-litre W16 powertrain.
It is powered by the quad-turbocharged 8.0-litre W16, producing 1,479bhp and 1,180lb-ft of torque between 2,000-6,000rpm, delivered to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with paddle shift. Performance is identical to the standard Chiron, with a 0-62mph time of just 2.4 seconds, 0-124mph in 6.1 seconds and a top speed of 261mph, making the Chiron Sport one of the fastest road cars in the world.
The Chiron Sport is approximately 18kg lighter than the standard Chiron, achieved through the use of lightweight carbon-fibre components, thinner glass, a lighter exhaust system and extensive use of carbon fibre throughout the vehicle. The interior also benefits from weight-saving measures, including Alcantara, carbon fibre and anodised aluminium, while the exterior is distinguished by its more aggressive detailing and signature ‘Sport’ badging.
The Chiron Sport is fitted with specially developed lightweight wheels, which not only reduce unsprung mass but also improve steering response and agility. The car also features a revised rear diffuser which accomodates the new four pipe exhaust layout, while the aerodynamics work in conjunction with the electronically controlled four-wheel-drive and four-wheel-steering systems to enhance stability and cornering performance.
To improve handling, the Chiron Sport features a retuned suspension system with springs that are up to 65% stiffer than those of the standard Chiron, alongside revised damping, steering and torque-vectoring characteristics. The Dynamic Torque Vectoring system is capable of individually managing torque distribution to the front and rear axles, while a new Sport driving mode sharpens the throttle, transmission and steering responses, allowing the Chiron Sport to deliver a more engaging driving experience without sacrificing the refinement and usability expected of a Bugatti.
