Replacing the GranTurismo S, the Maserati GranTurismo Sport is a stylish 2+2 Italian grand tourer, unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show with a revised 4.7-litre Ferrari-built V8 under the bonnet. Featuring new pistons, revised ignition-spark timing and retuned engine mapping and management, it produces 454hp, and can launch the GranTurismo from 0-60mph in 4.6 seconds, before hitting a top speed of over 185mph.
The car features a switchable ‘sport’ mode, which sharpens the throttle response and opens up the exhaust baffles for a more aggressive tone, as well as a ZF six-speed automatic transmission, adaptive ‘Skyhook’ suspension, 20-inch alloy wheels, a revamped cabin and Pininfarina-designed bodywork, including a new grille inspired by the limited-production GranTurismo MC.
In the ‘MC Sport Line’ trim level, it features additional carbon-fibre elements, and more aggressive bodywork with a revised grille and wheel arches.
